More than 140 men from the Parish of Auchtermuchty served in the First World War, 1914-1918.
30 of these men died fighting for their country, in Belgium, France, Italy, Egypt and Mesopotamia.

In addition to the men who died in the First World War, the Influenza epidemic hit Auchtermuchty hard. By February 1919, twenty folk from Auchtermuchty and district had died of influenza.
